Lane closure on Meade Street bridge crossing US 41 in Outagamie County

May 14, 2014

Bridge being posted for 15 ton limit

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a northbound lane closure on the Meade Street (County E) bridge where it crosses US 41 in Outagamie County.

This closure is being done as a safety precaution due to some settling of the sidewalk on the approach to the north side of the bridge. Due to the settling, the bridge is also being posted at a 15-ton limit.

Crews are continuing to investigate as to what caused the settling and determine how to repair it. These precautions are being taken as a result of the settling of the sidewalk approaching the bridge. The bridge itself is safe for use and had been inspected in fall 2013.
