Public meeting scheduled to discuss proposed WIS 29 service road in Marathon County

June 2, 2014

Information regarding location alternatives will be available

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss the proposed construction of a service road north of WIS 29 and west of WIS 107 in Marathon County.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the commons area of the Marathon High School, 204 East Street, Marathon City. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.

The purpose of the proposed service road is to improve safety by correcting geometric deficiencies associated with access to WIS 29. A service road is necessary to ensure that properties will still retain reasonable access to WIS 107 and to WIS 29. Information regarding multiple concept alternatives for the location of the service road will be available. All interested business and property owners are encouraged to attend.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2017.
