WIS 23 on-ramps from County Y closing Wednesday, June 18

June 10, 2014

On ramps to be closed until mid-August.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) NE Region in Green Bay is announcing the department is tentatively planning on closing the WIS 23 on-ramps from County Y in Sheboygan County beginning Wednesday, June 18 to mid-August. Concurrent with this change, the WIS 23 off-ramps to County Y will be reopened. County Y will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction, but traffic will be moved to the west side of the County Y median. Single-lane closures on WIS 23 will also continue in the westbound and eastbound directions.

WisDOT will make an announcement if the June 18 ramp closure date is delayed.

This work includes replacement of concrete pavement on all four ramps and on County Y between the ramp termini, painting of the bridge steel, and concrete overlay of the existing bridge deck. Completion of this WisDOT project is now anticipated in mid-August.

Please note that concurrent with WisDOT’s construction, the village of Kohler has a project on Highland Drive south of the department’s project and Sheboygan County has a project on County Y north of it.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and use caution when driving through this or any work zone.
