Closures planned for US 41 and WIS 47 in Outagamie County

June 23, 2014

Overnight closures begin tonight

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is announcing that full lane closures on US 41 northbound at the US 41/WIS 47 (N. Richmond Street) interchange in Outagamie County begin tonight, Monday, June 23 and continue daily from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Wednesday night, June 25. The closures will reduce US 41 northbound to one lane with traffic diverted onto the interchange ramps.

During these same times, WIS 47 (Richmond Street) will be closed and motorists will need to seek alternate routes.

Motorists should anticipate backups on US 41 at this location, use caution and remain alert to signing directions.

The $4.2 million project will raise the clearance under the bridge from 15 feet to 16 feet 9 inches minimum. This is the last bridge along US 41 in Outagamie County to be raised. The bridge deck is also being widened from 39 feet to 39 feet 11 inches and the lanes are being reconfigured to add a separated bike/pedestrian lane. Work is expected to be completed in October.
