Motorists traveling on US 51 to the Minocqua, Woodruff area should plan for delays
June 25, 2014
Work on US 51 in Minocqua and Woodruff has the highway reduced to one lane in each direction between Old Hwy 70 (Minocqua) and 3rd Avenue (Woodruff). The lane reduction, combined with the increased holiday traffic is likely to result in traffic backups and delays. Motorists traveling through this area are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
Crews currently plan to open US 51 to four lanes by noon on Thursday, July 3. Work and lane restrictions on US 51 will resume after Labor Day. Crews will continue to work on the local and county systems in the Minocqua/Woodruff area throughout July and August. Motorists may encounter traffic impacts on County J, Townline Road and Packing Plant Road.
