Deck sealing starting on bridges in various counties

June 27, 2014

Work will prolong the service life of bridge decks

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing "deck sealing" operations are beginning. Work will take place on bridges are located include Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Calumet, Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties. Work will begin Monday, July 7 and finish by September.

The general contractor is Norcon Corporation, Schofield, WI.

Cost for the project is estimated at $590,000. Treating the bridge decks with a protective coating helps protect the structures from road salt and prolong their service life.

Traffic impacts will be limited to lane closures and much of the work will be done during the evening. Motorists are asked to use caution and stay alert when driving through these or any work zones.
