July 24, 2014
Planned improvements to I-39/90/94 in Columbia County will be discussed at a public involvement meeting hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). The meeting will be held Wednesday, August 13 at the Poynette school cafeteria, 108 N. Cleveland Street, Poynette, from 5:30 to 7 pm.
The meeting will be organized in an open-house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Project staff will be available to answer questions throughout the evening. The public is encouraged to attend and share verbal or written comments about the project.
The highway improvements are intended to extend the service life of the roadway and will include an overlay of the existing mainline and shoulder pavements, structure improvements, beam guard replacement, culvert rehabilitation, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installations. When completed, the project will improve traffic safety and reduce maintenance needs on the Interstate. The work is scheduled for 2016.
