Signal changes planned at US 53/US 12 interchange in Eau Claire
August 6, 2014
In an effort to improve the operation and flow of traffic, as well as reduce delays and occasional congestion, beginning Monday, August 11, motorists will notice changes in the way they will be allowed to move through the US 53/US 12 interchange in Eau Claire.
The southbound exit ramp right turn to westbound US 12 will be signalized (currently yield control). This is to provide a better flow for the high-demand traffic during the morning peak hour and reduce the backups on the ramp.
Additional green time will be allocated to the westbound left turn arrow from US 12 to US 53 south during the afternoon peak hours. The purpose of this change is to reduce the left turn vehicles waiting and spilling back to block the left through lane of US 12.
