State issues warning for Shawano County area auto/salvage dealer

August 6, 2014

The motor vehicle dealer license and the salvage dealer license of a Shawano County area dealership is under scrutiny by the state of Wisconsin. An investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Division of Motor Vehicles Dealer and Agent Section found that Terry’s 29 Auto, LLC, which also operates as Hwy 29 Auto Parts, W5008 County Road BE, Bonduel, violated state law. The dealership was found to have intentionally removed and altered vehicle identification numbers.

Any future violations could result in the loss of the dealership’s motor vehicle dealer license and/or salvage dealer license. The company agreed to allow agents or employees of WisDOT to inspect all business records necessary to verify compliance with the Order Suspending License.

This agreement is part of a special order issued by the state Department of Administration's Division of Hearings and Appeals. This action is the result of an investigation by WisDOT’s Division of Motor Vehicles’ Dealer and Agent Section. Violation of a special order is grounds for denial, suspension, or revocation of a representative license.
