Public involvement meeting for WIS 89 (Main Street), Topel to Madison Street, city of Lake Mills

Meeting to focus on gathering input for the proposed highway reconstruction

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss preliminary concepts for the reconstruction of WIS 89 between Topel Street and Madison Street in Lake Mills, Jefferson County.

Location: Lake Mills Community Center, 200 Water Street
Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2014
Time: 5 to 7 p.m.

The reconstruction of WIS 89 may include eliminating street parking on one side of the roadway in the residential area. Proposed improvements include adding bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and replacing sidewalks, curb, gutter and storm sewer. The city of Lake Mills will upgrade sanitary and water mains with the construction project. WisDOT has scheduled construction for the summer and fall of 2018.

This will be an open house format meeting with a short formal presentation at 5:30 pm. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
