Public meeting for the WIS 83 and WIS 16 Interchange

August 13, 2014

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) invites you to a public involvement meeting to address the reconstruction of WIS 83 from 1/4 mile south of the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad/Vettleson Road to Campus Drive, including the WIS 83 and WIS 16 interchange. The project will convert the existing 2-lane rural roadway to a 4-lane divided urban section with curb and gutter, sidewalk, and a multi-use path adjacent to the road. Two new bridges will be constructed over WIS 16 and the Union Pacific Railroad/Vettleson Road, along with a reconstruction of the existing bridge. Construction is anticipated to begin, pending funding, fall of 2017.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hartland Village Board Room, 210 Cottonwood Avenue. Staff members will be available to discuss the project with interested individuals and to take your comments about the project. The meeting will have an "open house" format to allow interested persons an opportunity to meet individually with project staff from WisDOT and to view exhibits displaying pertinent information regarding the project.

This meeting is an opportunity to ask questions, exchange information and offer comments regarding the project. All interested persons are cordially invited to attend. For questions about the meeting or the WIS 83 project, please contact John Kanzenbach, WisDOT project manager, at (262) 548-6467 or by email at

Auxiliary aids such as language translation and signing will be made available if requested from WisDOT at least one week prior to the meeting. Please contact John Kanzenbach to make arrangements.
