WIS 54/Waupaca County QQ construction information meeting scheduled

August 15, 2014

Construction is scheduled to begin as early as September 2

The public is invited to attend a construction information meeting to learn more about the planned improvements to the WIS 54/Waupaca County QQ intersection, located in Waupaca.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 27, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Waupaca City Hall Council Chambers, 111 South Main Street, Waupaca. Adjacent property and business owners are encouraged to attend.

Sommers Construction Co. Inc., of Shiocton, will provide information regarding the planned construction activities, the construction schedule, and traffic impacts. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting.

The $351,000 project is scheduled to begin as early as September 2. Crews will improve safety and operations at this location by modifying the intersection layout and traffic signals.

During construction, WIS 54 and County QQ will remain open to traffic. Grand Seasons Drive will be closed to truck traffic for approximately two weeks. Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures with minimal delays.

Construction is scheduled for completion by November 2014.

The project will be paid for with a combination of federal and state transportation funds.
