Public meeting for WIS 71, Monroe County

Meeting to focus on design of WIS 71

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region in La Crosse is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss the highway design for the 2.09 miles of reconstruction of WIS 71 from WIS 162 to WIS 27 in Monroe County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on September 3 at the Little Falls Town Hall building, 4124 County Road I, Sparta.

The purpose is to inform the public of the WIS 71 project design progress and discuss final right-of-way. This project will consist of reconstruction of 2.09 miles of roadway, intersection redesign, and drainage improvements. Acquisition of right-of-way is expected. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2016.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
