I-43 northbound lane closure will be reopened Friday

August 21, 2014

Delays expected as Packer fans head home

Beginning Friday, August 22 at noon, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will reopen a lane closure on I-43 northbound at County LL, near Fredonia in Ozaukee County. That means both lanes of northbound traffic will be open as motorists head north for the Packers game.

On I-43 southbound, a single lane closure remains in effect in that area with possible delays of up to ten minutes from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. overnight Friday as Packer fans return home. Delays are also expected to develop southbound Sunday afternoon as a number of other weekend vacationers head home.

Southbound drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route, exiting near Sheboygan on WIS 23 westbound, heading south on WIS 57 and back onto I-43.

Motorists are urged to pay close attention to message boards and traffic control signs. Please check Wisconsin 511 online for-up to-date information.
