Public meeting for Donges Bay Road/WIS 145 intersection reconstruction in Washington County
August 21, 2014
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region in Waukesha is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss a reconstruction project for the intersection of Donges Bay Road and WIS 145 in Germantown in Washington County. The meeting is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on August 27 at the Germantown Community Library (Community Meeting Room – Large Side) N112 W16957 Mequon Road, Germantown, WI 53022. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
The meeting will be held in an informal open house format; no formal presentations will be made. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
The intersection warrants reconstruction to handle future traffic demands from development north and east of the intersection. The intersection type was determined by going through an Intersection Control Evaluation. The roundabout option was recommended and approved during summer 2012. WisDOT is proposing to reconstruct the intersection as a single lane roundabout that can be expanded in the distant future. Expansion would occur when traffic warrants an expansion which will most likely be near the year 2030 or beyond. The project team plans to have exhibits on hand that communicate how to traverse the roundabout in real time, via simulation.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Project Manager Nguyen Ly at (262) 548-8739. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Nguyen Ly at 141 NW Barstow Street, P.O. Box 798, Waukesha, WI 53187-0798.
