US 51 central segment schedule

The needs assessment was completed in spring 2003.

WisDOT is studying alternatives for addressing the problems identified in the needs assessment. An Environmental Impact Statement evaluating the impacts of proposed alternatives is scheduled for completion in 2007. 

Currently, funding for any major improvements is not expected to be available before 2012. Lower-cost improvements will be implemented on an ongoing basis as resources permit. 

No major construction projects are planned at this time.
