US 14/WIS 11 corridor study - public involvement

Corridor studies are a cooperative effort among the public, state and federal review agencies, and WisDOT. Extensive effort is always made to keep the public involved and informed throughout the study process.

News releases

News releases are sent to local officials and media to keep the public informed about WisDOT projects.

Newsletters

Public information meetings

Public information meetings are held to gather public input. Meetings are announced in area newspapers, display ads, project newsletters and on this page. 

Scheduled

The next public information meeting will be scheduled in early 2006 and will be used to discuss improvement alternatives.

Previously held

A public information meeting was held June 28, 2005, in Janesville to discuss the expanded study area, which includes a potential connection between US 14 and the existing WIS 11 bypass on the west side of Janesville. 

Public information meetings were held November 11 and 13, 2003, in Janesville and Darien. Input received at the meetings will help in the development of improvement alternatives.

Committees

Two committees have been formed to provide additional information and guidance to the study team. The advisory committee is composed of state and local officials. The technical committee is composed of local transportation and planning officials. 

Needs Assessment workshop

A local officials Needs Assessment workshop was held October 2, 2003. Participants formed groups to identify key issues associated with the US 14/WIS 11 corridor.
