Claude Allouez Bridge project public involvement

Today more than ever, public projects are developed as a cooperative effort between the public, community officials and WisDOT.

Developing a project like the replacement of the Claude Allouez Bridge takes several years of planning and research. During this stage, the public, local government and the business community are given the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas on how best to replace the current bridge.

Public events

WisDOT and the city of De Pere hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Claude Allouez Bridge Wednesday, July 26, 2006.

Over 100 people for the community attended the event.

Public hearing

A public hearing on the draft environmental assessment was held on February 28, 2004, in De Pere. Public comments regarding the impacts and effects of proposed improvements were accepted until March 15, 2004.

Public information meetings and newsletters

WisDOT has sponsored several public information meetings to update the public on what's taking place with the project and to gather feedback.

In conjunction with the meetings, WisDOT has sent out several newsletters to community members directly impacted by the bridge alternatives. These newsletters provide information on what has taken place to date and what will happen next.

The following newsletters are in Adobe Acrobat PDF PDF format.
