US 141 expansion - WIS 22 to WIS 64

US 141 is a major connector linking Green Bay and other major northeast Wisconsin communities to northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. US 141 also acts as an essential link to the major east-west routes of US 8, in Wisconsin, and US 2, in Upper Michigan, and the important north-south route of US 41.

US 141, from WIS 22 to WIS 64, does not currently meet standards for roadway capacity, traffic flow and alignment. These deficiencies, combined with heavy traffic volumes and uncontrolled access in the towns of Lena, Coleman and Pound, are resulting in a low level of service and increased potential for crashes.

WisDOT is correcting these deficiencies by reconstructing US 141 as a four-lane divided expressway with limited access. The 16.8-mile project begins at LeMere Road, just north of WIS 22, and ends at Sixth Road, just north of WIS 64.

The new roadway will follow existing US 141 with an east bypass of Lena and a west bypass of Coleman and Pound. Interchanges will be considered at County A in Lena and County B in Coleman.

Construction began in April 2004 and is scheduled to end in 2007.

US 141 residential area.

The new US 141 will include an east bypass of Lena and a west bypass of Coleman and Pound.
