US 51/WIS 29 project schedule - 2008

US 51/WIS 29 (Exit 190 to Exit 193)

Project: Construct northbound lanes between County NN and WIS 52. Construct off ramp from northbound US 51 to WIS 52.
Dates: March 2008 through summer 2009
Traffic impact:

• US 51/WIS 29 may be reduced to one lane in each direction during off-peak hours.
• Periodic lane closures may be required on WIS 29/52 for bridge construction.
• Crews expect to close Stewart Avenue under US 51 for approximately eight weeks in October and November 2008 for bridge pier construction.

US 51/WIS 29 (Exit 191)

Project: Construct WIS 29 freeway.
Dates: March through fall 2008
Traffic impact:

• The northbound off ramp from US 51/WIS 29 to Sherman Street will be closed for two weeks in mid-March.
• Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on US 51/WIS 29 between County NN and WIS 52 from late March to late April.
• Eastbound and westbound WIS 29 will be detoured via County R and County NN from late March to late April.
• Other traffic impacts include closing and detouring the WIS 52 on ramp to southbound US 51, as well as the County NN on ramp to northbound US 51 from late March to late April.

US 51/WIS 29 (Exit 191 to Exit 192)

Project: Construct new ramp from eastbound WIS 29 to northbound US 51.
Dates: August 2008 through fall 2010
Traffic impact:

• Periodic lane closures will be required on 28th Avenue for bridge construction.

Sherman Street

Project: Reconstruct Sherman Street from County R to 22nd Avenue.
Dates: March through September 2008
Traffic Impact:

• Crews will close Sherman Street under US 51 for approximately two weeks in early April.
• Periodic lane closures may be required on Sherman Street for bridge construction during the summer.
• 24th Avenue, at the intersection with Sherman Street will be closed for approximately two months in spring 2008 for intersection reconstruction.
