US 51/WIS 29 project schedule - 2009

Date Location Type of work/activity Traffic impact
March through November 2009 US 51 (Exit 191B to Exit 192) Construct northbound lanes between Sherman Street and WIS 52. Construct off-ramp from northbound US 51 to WIS 52. US 51 may be reduced to one lane in each direction during off-peak hours.

Motorists may encounter lane closures on the off-ramp from northbound US 51 to WIS 52. 

March 2009 through fall 2010 WIS 29 (Exit 164) Construct new ramp connecting eastbound WIS 29 and northbound US 51. Periodic lane closures will be required on 28th Avenue for bridge construction.

US 51 may be reduced to one lane in each direction during off-peak hours.

The off-ramp from eastbound WIS 29 to Stewart Avenue will be reduced to one lane.

Periodic lane closures will be required on WIS 29 for bridge construction. 

April through November 2009 28th Avenue  Reconstruct 28th Avenue from Sherman Street to WIS 52. 28th Avenue will be closed between Sherman Street and Stewart Avenue for approximately four weeks in April and early May.

28th Avenue will be closed between Sherman Street and Stewart Avenue for one week in June.

Traffic on 28th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

May through August 2009 Stewart Avenue Reconstruct Stewart Avenue from WIS 52 to 24th Avenue. Stewart Avenue will be closed between 26th Avenue and 24th Avenue between May and August 2008.
