I-39/Business 51 interchange purpose

The current bridge was built in 1969. Planned improvements will raise and repair the structure in order to meet current standards. The bridge and ramp improvements will accommodate both current and future traffic.

The addition of a deceleration lane to the I-39 northbound off-ramp will offer motorists a safer transition from the freeway.
