I-43 event-only partial interchange study - need/purpose

This event-only partial interchange is needed to successfully manage traffic for major golf events at Whistling Straits. Development pressure on the existing interchange infrastructure at WIS 42 will negatively effect the traffic operation on I-43 during future major golf events. Safety of the traveling public is always a concern especially as traffic-backups on I-43 become likely during these events.

An event-only interchange will provide the needed access to I-43, without the development pressure that a full time, full interchange may receive.

A successful major golf tournament results in millions of dollars in revenue locally and to the state. A successful tournament along with successful traffic management plan will help attract more events in the future.
