I-39 Stevens Point Area Corridor Study - Environmental documents, Real Estate, and Traffic Impacts

Environmental Impacts

Several environmental studies are underway regarding the study’s proposed improvements:

Real Estate Impacts

We anticipate working to acquire property at the US 10 east/WIS 66 west interchange, County B interchange, and WIS 66 east/Stanley St. interchange.

Traffic Impacts

  • Managing access to state highways is important to protecting the safety, traffic flow and public investment in the state highway system.
  • WisDOT will work closely with local officials, emergency services, law enforcement and businesses to minimize traffic impacts during construction.
  • The freeway will remain open with two lanes in each direction during peak travel times.

Environmental Assessment (EA)

  • Environmental Assessment (EA) is being conducted for the entire corridor.
  • This is expected to be completed in the summer of 2015.

Environmental Report (ER)

  • ER is underway for the County B area and is expected to be completed by early 2014.
  • ER is also underway for the WIS 66 east/Stanley St. area. It is expected to be completed in early 2014.
