US 41 Interstate Conversion - Schedule

Interstates are important to economic development. Companies looking to relocate or expand consistently report highway accessibility is key in their decision making.

For more information on Public Involvement Meetings (PIM), hearings and other public activities, visit Public involvement.

Current (this year)

Federal grandfathering legislation is necessary to maintain the current weight limits on US 41 when it is converted to a Interstate. The department continues to work with our federal legislators as they move this legislation forward. We will not convert US 41 to an Interstate until this legislation passes. The department is currently putting necessary resources in place to enable us to act quickly to implement a signing project when the legislation does finally pass.
