The Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station (MARS) project involves
extending the existing station platform and canopy from 400 feet
south along the existing Canadian Pacific Railway.
In addition, Canadian Pacific replaced some railroad ties, and
removed the current emergency platform and replaced it with a new
one on the north end of the platform.

The estimated project cost is $678,021, which is funded entirely by
a grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
WisDOT signed a cooperative agreement with the FRA in January 2011.
