Zoo Interchange - conceptual timeline

The following is a conceptual timeline for a study, design and construction process for the Zoo Interchange.

Date Type of work/Activity
2007-2009 Conduct environmental and engineering analysis.
2007-2010 Public involvement (workshops, public information meetings, public hearings, Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings, Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings).
June 2008 Corridor study, initial alternatives finalized.
October 2008 Corridor study, final alternatives developed.
March 2009 Signed Draft Environmental Document.
April 2009 Corridor study, preferred alternative selected.
July 2009 Preliminary engineering, plans 30 percent completed.
September 2009 Draft of Final Environmental Document created.
2009-2010 Preliminary engineering.
2010-2012 Conduct final design and begin to address real estate and utility issues.
2012-2016 Reconstruct the interchange.

All work and timelines on the Zoo Interchange are dependent on state and federal funding and on all appropriate state and federal review and approval processes.
