Milwaukee Intermodal Station renovation - Overview

On October 13, 2003, Frank Busalacchi, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Scott D. Mayer, president of Milwaukee Intermodal Partners, LLC, signed contracts to begin the $5.4 million rehabilitation project.

The project consists of the following cost breakdown:

  • $1.4 million purchase of the Milwaukee Amtrak terminal by the state of Wisconsin
  • $2.6 million in federal and state matched funds
  • $1.4 million equity fund from Milwaukee Intermodal Partners, LLC

When completed, the station will be an intermodal terminal incorporating intercity bus service (such as Greyhound and regional bus services) and providing accessibility for other current and proposed modes of transportation, such as:

A contract has been signed with Milwaukee Intermodal Partners LLC (MIP) to remodel, redevelop and manage the facility as an intermodal terminal.

Milwaukee Intermodal Partners is a consortium made up of Wilton Partners of Los Angeles and Chicago (developers), Project Management Advisors Inc. of Chicago (developers), Eppstein Uhen Architects of Milwaukee (architects) and CG Schmidt of Milwaukee (contractors).
