Project location

US 14/61, Springville Road to County T/WIS 27/WIS 82, east side of Viroqua, in Vernon County.

Project overview

• Design for this section of US 14/61 consists of a two-lane facility on new alignment.
• Roadway to connect with the new four-lane highway near Springville Road and to extend 5.3 miles south to just past the WIS 27/WIS 82/County T intersection with existing US 14/61.
• New roadway to consist of two 12-foot driving lanes and 6-foot shoulders on each side.

Project cost estimated at $8.5 million.

Traffic impacts

• Construction of the new facility to have minimal impact to the traveling public.
• Temporary lane closures to occur where proposed bypass connects into existing US 14/16 at Springville Road and just south of WIS 27/WIS 82/ County T intersection.
• Roads intersecting proposed bypass may be restricted from crossing during construction:
  • County T
  • County SS
  • WIS 56/82
  • Mahoney Road
  • Maple Dale Drive
  • County BB/South Asbury Road
  • Railroad Avenue
  • Springville Road
• Access to proposed two-lane bypass to be limited to at-grade intersections:

  • Springville Road
• Agricultural access points to be provided at selected locations as coordinated in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
