US 14/61 improvements, Segment 3: Viroqua Bypass

The design for this section of US 14/61 around the eastern side of Viroqua consists of a two-lane facility on new alignment. The roadway will connect with the new four-lane highway near Springville Road and will extend 5.3 miles south to just past the WIS27/WIS82/CountyT intersection with existing US 14/61.

The new roadway will consist of two 12-foot driving lanes and 6-foot shoulders on each side.

The estimated total cost for this section is $8.5 million.

Construction of the new facility will have minimal impact to the traveling public. Temporary lane closures will occur where the proposed bypass connects into the existing US 14/16 at Springville Road and just south of the WIS 27/WIS 82/ County T intersection.

Roads intersecting the proposed bypass may be restricted from crossing for periods during construction. The following roads will be affected by the proposed construction:

  • County T
  • County SS
  • WIS 56/82
  • Mahoney Road
  • Maple Dale Drive
  • County BB/South Asbury Road
  • Railroad Avenue
  • Springville Road

Access to the proposed two-lane bypass will be limited to at-grade intersections at the following roads:

  • County T
  • County SS
  • WIS 56/82
  • Mahoney Road
  • Maple Dale Drive
  • County BB/Asbury Road
  • Springville Road

Agricultural access points will be provided at selected locations as coordinated in the Environmental Impact Statement

Railroad Avenue and Lewison Road access type and locations are being determined.
