US 18/151 Freeway Conversion Study - Maps

The US 18/151 Freeway Conversion Study will result in a plan for the eventual removal of all direct access by existing local roads and driveways onto US 18/151. When construction of all plan elements is completed, access to US 18/151 will be at highway interchanges only. Local access to the interchanges will be facilitated by new grade separated crossings over or under US 18/151 and by adding to and improving the existing local road system.

The improvement alternatives under consideration are shown on six separate maps. The six sections are labeled by number from west to east and by location limits. A brief description of the alternative(s) being considered within each section is also provided. In Section 2, Alternative 2B has been selected as the preferred option and is labeled as such.

Within each section, most of the new or realigned local road connections are the same in each of the alternatives. However, final locations of some local roads are still to be determined. Coordination with local stakeholders will continue until the design and location of the local road changes and all other plan elements is completed.

Section 1: US 18 to County BB

  • Alternative 1A: Interchange (diamond or partial cloverleaf) shifted west of existing County Y. (545 KB)
  • Alternative 1B: Interchange (diamond) on existing County Y. (545 KB)
  • Alternative 1C: Interchange (diamond or partial cloverleaf) shifted far west of existing County Y. (472 KB)

Section 2: County BB to West Brigham Road

  • Alternative 2A: Interchanges east of County HHH (in-town) and West Brigham Road. (955 KB)
  • Alternative 2B: Interchanges at County BB and County HHH/High Point Road (Preferred alternative). (931 KB)
    • Sub-area concepts: For the area between County HHH/High Point Road and West Brigham/Pikes peak Road, four concepts were developed.

      • Concept 1: Diamond interchange at County HHH/High Point Road, overpass at West Brigham Road.
      • Concept 2: Diamond interchange at County HHH/High Point Road, no overpass at West Brigham Road.
      • Concept 3: Partial cloverleaf interchange at County HHH/High Point Road, overpass at West Brigham Road.
      • Concept 4: Partial cloverleaf interchange at County HHH/High Point Road, no overpass at West Brigham Road.

Section 3: West Brigham Road to Mounds View Road (445 KB)

  • Alternative 3A: Overpass of US 18/151 for County K.
  • Alternative 3B: Move County K to connect to County ID interchange, cul-de-sac for existing connection to US 18/151.

Section 4: Mounds View Road to Erbe Road

  • Alternative 4A: Interchange (partial cloverleaf) at County F. (1 MB)

Section 5: Erbe Road to County P (512 KB)

  • No significant changes to US 81/151 in this segment.

Section 6: County P to County G (834 KB)

  • Alternative 6A: Interchange at County J.
  • Alternative 6B: No interchange at County J.
