US 18 Bluemound Road project

US 18 (Bluemound Road) serves as a major east-west arterial route through southern Wisconsin connecting the city of Milwaukee to the city of Prairie du Chien. US 18 is classified as a backbone route or a connecting route in the WisDOT Corridors 2020 plan, depending on its location in the state.

Within the corridor, US 18 (Bluemound Road) serves as a principal east-west interurban arterial between the cities of Milwaukee and Waukesha and is a highly developed retail/business and commuter corridor.

The proposed safety improvements to US 18 (Bluemound Road), from Moorland Road to Barker Road in the city of Brookfield, will make Bluemound Road a safer roadway for motorists and businesses and property owners in the corridor.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2008.
