US 2/WIS 13 Intersection Improvement - History

Project benchmarks

• 1974 – Existing WIS 13 intersection was built as a modified type A intersection.
• 1978 - Two lights and an overhead sign for eastbound US 2 were added.
• 1991-1992 – US 2 converted to a divided highway through the intersection. The existing lanes are now the eastbound 2 roadway.
• 2003 – Current configuration created with the single through lane on westbound US 2.
• 2006 – Final modification adding rumble strips and LED’s.
• 2008 - Planning and design started and project was enumerated by legislature.
