US 51 central segment - Stoughton Road project schedule

The needs assessment was completed in spring 2003. WisDOT is studying alternatives for addressing the problems identified in the needs assessment. A draft environmental impact statement (EIS) evaluating the impacts of proposed alternatives is scheduled for completion in 2008. Completion of the final EIS is expected in 2009. 

Currently, funding for any major improvements is not expected to be available before 2012. Lower-cost improvements will be implemented on an ongoing basis as resources permit. 

No major construction projects are planned at this time.
