WIS 45-100 Corridor Study

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a study of the WIS 45/100 corridor from W. Puetz Road to W. Layton Avenue within the communities of Franklin, Hales Corners, and Greenfield in Milwaukee County.

The 5.3-mile study will:

  • Evaluate the need for additional lanes.
  • Analyze traffic at all intersections.
  • Evaluate access locations and median openings to improve highway safety and efficiency.
  • Evaluate impacts of proposed improvement alternatives.

Study outcomes will include:

  • An Environmental Assessment (EA) document.
  • A Design Study report.
  • A preliminary plan.

This study will address long term safety and congestion needs that could not be addressed with the 2007 pavement resurfacing and maintenance project.
