Rustic Road 1

Location: Taylor County.  Between WIS 102 and County Highway D near Rib Lake.

Length:  5 miles

Surface: Gravel

Dedicated in 1975, this was the first Rustic Road. A historical marker alongside the road commemorates the designation.  This road crosses through hills and valleys created by the Wisconsin glaciers nearly 12,000 years ago.   Timm's Hill National Trail, connecting the nearby Ice Age Trail with R-62 and Timm's Hill Observation Tower 9 miles North, is open year round for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.  South Harper Lake offers a public beach.
