Maps and descriptions

Rustic Road 77

Location:  Door County. County TT running northerly to the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive.

Length:  3.5 miles

Surface:  Paved

R77 begins at the Coast Guard station and the light house at its southern end and parallels Lake Michigan. Many types of trees including cedars, maples, white birch, and pines line this route along its entire length. A municipal park also borders R77. It was from this spot that early native Americans "portaged" from Lake Michigan to Sturgeon Bay before the ship canal was constructed.
